We are seeking an experienced Medical Oncologist to join our multidisciplinary team at Mackay Base Hospital. As a key member of our Oncology Unit, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality inpatient and outpatient oncology care.
* This permanent full-time position offers the opportunity to work with a well-established, growing Oncology Unit supported by experienced oncologists, specialist nurses, pharmacists, and allied health professionals.
Mackay Base Hospital is one of Queensland's most modern healthcare facilities and the major referral centre for a region of over 182,000 people. The Oncology Unit provides comprehensive medical oncology services, supported by an experienced nursing team and a day infusion unit operating Monday to Friday.
About the Role
You will be responsible for participating in multidisciplinary team meetings, contributing to teaching and supervision of doctors in training, and playing a key role in further developing clinical research within the service.
* Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) in Medical Oncology, or equivalent overseas specialist qualification.
* Registration (or eligibility for registration) with AHPRA.
* Experience in providing high-quality oncology care within a multidisciplinary environment.
* Strong communication skills and a commitment to service development, education and clinical leadership.
