About the Role
You are a passionate, dedicated mental health professional committed to delivering the highest quality care.
You demonstrate excellent communication, listening, empathy, compassion, and moral integrity.
You work as part of a multidisciplinary team to support ADF members.
Key Responsibilities
Work within a health centre setting to support the diverse mental health needs of military members.
Manage crisis presentations, conduct risk assessment, and develop risk management plans.
Provide initial intake and assessment for ADF members, with flexibility to accommodate presenting needs.
Formulate cases and develop treatment plans.
Deliver programmatic treatment interventions.
Coordinate care and provide group psycho-education.
About ADF Health Services
In partnership with Bupa, our team provides integrated health services to Australian Defence Force personnel across 45+ on-base locations, ensuring access to quality on-site medical care.
About Stirling Health Centre
Located 45 km south of Perth on HMAS Stirling's Garden Island, the centre provides physiotherapy, dentistry, pharmacy, general medical, and outpatient services.
Standard hours: 07:*****:00, Monday-Friday.
Qualification & Experience
Highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour.
Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Minimum two (2) years of post-graduate experience in mental health within the last five years, including comprehensive assessment and evidence-based 'Focused Psychological Strategies' (Medicare Schedule).
Recent participation in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities in accordance with AHPRA.
Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification.
Knowledge of relevant state/territory policies, procedures, and national standards governing mental health practice (desirable).
Knowledge of the ADF Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy ********* (desirable).
Additional Information
Must be an Australian citizen to obtain the required baseline security clearance.
You do not need to be enlisted in the Defence Force to work as a civilian on-base; your role remains here even if the personnel you care for are deployed.
