About the Opportunity
A Naval Architecture Specialist is needed to join the Design team in Melbourne, WA. The ideal candidate will be a qualified Naval Architect with excellent communication skills and a high level of commitment to assist with project design.
Key Responsibilities
* Design vessel local and global structure, equipment foundations, hydrostatic and stability calculations, resistance, and powering calculations.
* Prepare design and drawings, including calculations and reports.
* Select and requisition hull, fire, and safety equipment.
* Design according to technical requirements and Austal processes for safety, quality, budget, and risk mitigation.
* Provide design support throughout production, commissioning, and delivery.
Requirements
Skills and Experience:
* Hold a Construction safety induction.
* Bachelor's Degree in Naval Architecture.
* Proven experience in vessel design and regulatory compliance.
* Proficient in Microsoft office, Maxsurf, and FEA software.
* Five years' experience in ship design and construction.
* Experience in designing Naval platforms.
