Salt House is a modern, special facility licensed venue designed specifically for the tropical climate we enjoy. Our venue contains a 180 pax restaurant featuring a wood fired Argentinian grill, a private dining room for up to 20 guests, 30 pax standalone pizzeria, 2 large cocktail bars with daybeds and plenty of open seating areas leading to a large, grassed area. This allows us to accommodate many different kinds of events and functions from large weddings to our annual Food & Wine Festival.
We cater to a broad and varied demographic taking great pride in holding a solid reputation for friendly professional service. We are a passionate supporter of live music and entertainment with a weekly program of musicians and DJs.
About the role
We are looking for experienced and passionate chefs and cooks of all levels to join our team. These casual positions offer flexibility and the ability to work in a dynamic and fast placed hospitality environment. You will support our kitchen operations to create high quality meals that delight our valued customers.
What you will do:
Prepare and cook a variety of menu items to the highest standards
Ensure dishes are presented beautifully and served promptly
Maintain strict food safety and hygiene standards
Work collaboratively with the front of house team to deliver an exceptional dining experience
Keep the kitchen clean, organised and efficient
What we are looking for:
Proven experience as a Chef or Cook with a genuine passion for food
Minimum of 1-2 years' experience in a busy kitchen environment
Proficient in using a range of kitchen equipment and tools
Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
Excellent attention to detail and presentation
A positive team player who thrives in a fast paced setting
Flexibility to work days, nights, weekends and Public Holidays
