The Role
An chance has become available for a Social Worker (Mental Health - Adult Community) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-robust team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia. Based in Palm Beach and Varsity Lakes.
You will
- Provide efficient and responsive community mental health nursing care at a professional level
- Undertake and coordinate case management activities that are designed to help individuals affected by serious and persistent mental illness
- Participate in clinical practice supervision with senior staff and exercise independent professional judgement
- Contribute to activities that evaluate and ensure the effective functioning of the service
- Maintain the currency and high quality of practice knowledge, skills and expertise by active participation in professional development activities
About you
**To be successful in this position you will require**:
- A tertiary degree in Social Work
- Eligible for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Pertussis (Whooping Cough), Hepatitis B and COVID 19
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Appointment or eligibility for appointment as an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner under the Mental Health Act 2016 is highly desirable
- Driver Licence
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed

Salary
- Permanent full time
- Base salary ranging from $77 741 - $107 556 per annum

The Mental Health Adult Community, Continuing Care Team (CCT) operates on the premise that consumers can and do recover from mental illness.
The CCT operates Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm, across variety of settings within the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service (GCHHS). Based at Palm Beach and Varsity Lakes.
