About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Investment Tax Specialist to support our client's investment activities by delivering expert tax due diligence, ensuring compliance, and managing tax-related matters across a diverse investment portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct detailed reviews of legal documents and proposed investment structures.
* Analyse the tax implications of proposed transactions to identify potential risks and opportunities.
* Collaborate with internal teams (investment, legal) and external advisers to ensure smooth transaction execution.
* Identify and resolve tax issues throughout the investment lifecycle.
* Monitor investments regularly to ensure accurate Australian and international tax reporting, compliance, and lodgement obligations.
About You
You are a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in investment tax. You possess:
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Law, or a related field. A professional qualification (e.g., CPA, CA, or Masters of Law) is preferred.
* Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in investment tax, tax advisory/compliance, or a related field, preferably within the managed funds, superannuation, or financial services industry.
* Strong understanding of Australian taxation laws and regulations, particularly as they relate to investments and managed funds.
* Solid understanding of investment concepts and structures.
* Experience reviewing legal documents related to investments.
* Knowledge of Australian taxation laws applicable to investments.
* Familiarity with foreign tax laws (e.g., US, Luxembourg) is an advantage.
* Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including investment teams, legal counsel, external advisers, and investment managers.
