Hays has partnered with two established local construction companies to recruit a Financial Controller for one organisation and a Finance Manager for the other. These opportunities offer significant scope to influence financial performance, strengthen reporting frameworks, and support strategic decision‑making within well‑regarded, growing businesses. In this senior role, you will oversee the full finance function, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of all financial operations. You will lead reporting, compliance, cashflow management, and team performance while driving continuous improvement across systems and processes.
Your new role
You will be responsible for:
* Developing process and procedures
* Overseeing all financial operations, including AP, AR, payroll, treasury, and statutory reporting
* Managing cashflow, forecasting, and daily/weekly treasury reporting
* Leading end‑of‑month and end‑of‑year processes, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery
* Preparing financial statements, P&L reports, balance sheet reconciliations, PAYG, GST, and payroll tax
* Driving continuous improvement across financial systems, controls, and SOPs
* Providing financial insights to support strategic and operational decision‑making
* Leading, mentoring, and supporting the Accounts Team
What you'll need to succeed
* Proven experience in a senior accounting or financial control role
* Strong technical accounting knowledge and reconciliation skills
* Experience managing cashflow, payroll, and compliance reporting
* High attention to detail, strong analytical capability, and the ability to meet strict deadlines
* Confident communicator with the ability to lead and influence
