About the Role As theSenior Mining Engineer(Open Pit) at Cowal, you will play a central role in delivering medium and long‐term mine plans that maximise the value of the open pit operation. You will develop and optimise rolling forecasts, annual budgets, Life of Mine plans and mine designs while ensuring safe, practical and value‐adding outcomes.You'll work closely with engineers, geologists, operations and leaders to align planning inputs with operational performance and future mining scenarios. This includes monthly performance reviews, variance analysis and the preparation of high‐quality technical inputs within Deswik, Scheduler and HaulSim.This role offers autonomy, leadership exposure, flexible roster options and access to significant technical development, including the potential for bespoke Deswick coaching options.About You You will bring strong technical capability, an improvement mindset and the ability to collaborate confidently across diverse teams.You have:A Mining Engineering qualification.5+ years' experience in open pit mine planning or mining studies.Demonstrated capability in mine design, scheduling, cost evaluation and optimisation.Strong Deswik skills, ideally able to build projects from scratch.Ability to analyse data, run scenarios and produce executable mine plans.Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.A proactive, organised and adaptable work style.The desire to develop toward senior technical or superintendent level roles.About Us From humble beginnings in 2011, Evolution Mining is now a leading gold producer, operating six mines across Australia and Canada.
