We are supporting a leading global renewable energy business in the appointment of a Project Director to lead the delivery of a single, large-scale onshore wind farm project in Australia.
This is a senior leadership role with full accountability for the project's delivery across safety, cost, schedule, quality, and stakeholder outcomes. Acting as the organisation's senior representative for the project, the Project Director will lead multidisciplinary teams within a matrix structure and work closely with customers, contractors, and internal leadership.
Based in Sydney or Melbourne
Key Responsibilities
* Take full accountability for the end-to-end delivery of one onshore wind farm project, ensuring outcomes are achieved within approved cost, time, and quality targets.
* Act as the senior project representative with the customer and key external stakeholders.
* Provide visible leadership and ensure strict compliance with quality, environmental, health and safety (QEHS) requirements.
* Lead and manage project teams within a matrix organisation, including personnel without direct reporting lines.
* Oversee commercial and contract management activities, including turbine supply, balance of plant, EPC, and consultancy agreements.
* Manage project risks, change control, and issue resolution, escalating where required.
About You
* Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
* 10-15+ years' experience in senior project leadership roles delivering major infrastructure, power, wind, or construction projects.
* Proven experience leading a large wind project through construction and commissioning.
* Strong understanding of contracts, schedules, cost control, documentation management, and financial administration.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-pressure delivery environment.
* Willingness to travel frequently and relocate to the project site for extended periods if required.
