Home for Good works alongside individuals, families and children who are experiencing homelessness or who are at risk of homelessness. The program provides integrated responses that support people to resolve crisis, access safe housing, and sustain long-term housing outcomes.

Home for Good delivers a range of services including housing support, advocacy, referrals, health and wellbeing connections, and access to community services. The program works closely with government, housing providers, health services and community organisations to support people experiencing complex barriers to housing. Services are delivered within the Queensland Government Specialist Homelessness Services framework and align with Micah Projects’ commitment to social justice, trauma informed practice, and participant centred responses.

The Service Design and Improvement Lead plays a key leadership role in shaping and strengthening services that support people experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Working within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment, you will lead service design, continuous improvement, and operational coordination across programs, ensuring responses are safe, effective, and trauma-informed. This role combines strategic thinking with hands-on leadership, supporting workforce capability, driving service innovation, managing complex and time-sensitive situations, and building strong partnerships across government and community sectors to improve outcomes for vulnerable individuals and families.

This is a permanent full time employment opportunity with salary and conditions at Level 6 of the SCHADS Award.

Desired Skills and Experience

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead service design, review, and continuous improvement initiatives across programs
* Provide operational leadership to ensure safe, responsive, and effective service delivery
* Identify service gaps, risks, and opportunities, implementing evidence-based improvements
* Build workforce capability through training, guidance, and performance support
* Coordinate service delivery across teams, including after-hours operations and complex cases
* Develop and maintain strong partnerships with government, housing, and community stakeholders
* Monitor performance, contribute to reporting, governance, and quality assurance processes
Essential Criteria
* Experience working with people experiencing homelessness or complex social needs
* Strong stakeholder engagement and partnership-building skills across sectors
* Demonstrated ability to analyse data and use insights to inform service improvements
* High-level communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills in complex environments
* Commitment to social justice, trauma-informed practice, and culturally safe approaches
