About the Role

The headspace Adelaide Primary Centre Lead is responsible for planning, coordinating and delivering services in a professional, ethical and effective manner. Drawing on their mental health expertise, the Primary Centre Lead ensures program outcomes are achieved and provides strong leadership across the service. This includes supporting the planning, development, implementation and review of policies and processes to enhance service delivery. The role plays a key part in the overall leadership, management, integration and continuous improvement of headspace Adelaide. The Primary Centre Lead ensures the service operates in line with the headspace model of care and aligns with Sonder’s strategic and business objectives. They oversee service delivery operations, lead strategic planning for future growth, and ensure the provision of high‑quality mental health services for young people. The role also maintains accountability for meeting required outputs and promoting awareness of headspace services within the local community.


Experience Requirements

* Demonstrated experience working within a fast‑paced environment
* Proven experience at a senior level within the area of mental health service delivery
* Extensive administrative, financial and management experience within a mental health service delivery context
* Experience in successfully leading/coordinating a team of staff and working as a member of a multi‑disciplinary team with the ability to inspire and facilitate team commitment and cooperation
* Demonstrated experience in preparation of reports for funding agencies.
* Proven track record in building and maintaining effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders
* Experience working across a range of Commonwealth and State funded mental health programmes and ensuring program implementation in line with funding requirements and contracts.
* Demonstrated experience in:
o Evidence‑informed interventions for young people with a broad range of mental health presentations
o Developmentally and age‑appropriate care for young people
o Involving young people in their own care and inclusive practice principles
o Family inclusive practices


Qualification and Other Requirements

* Current or willing to obtain a Working with Children’s Check (WWCC)
* Current or willing to obtain a National Police Check (NPC)

Applicants must hold qualifications in one of the following disciplines:

* Psychology – Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
* Social Work – with Mental Health Accreditation through the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
* Occupational Therapy – with Mental Health Endorsement recognised by Occupational Therapy Australia
* Nursing – must be a Registered Nurse with Credentialed Mental Health Nurse status through the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses
