Base Salary starting at $113,400 + 17% superannuation

The School of Medical Sciences is seeking aPostdoctoral Research Associate in Neuroimmunology and Chronic Pain,who will apply and develop their expertise to conduct research to further develop treatment for devastating chronic pain conditions.
They will contribute to research efforts independently and as part of a neuroimmunology research team based at the Brain and Mind Centre.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
independently, and as part of a research team, conduct research and scholarly work that contributes to a competitively funded research program in neuroimmunology and chronic pain
undertake recruitment of chronic pain patients for clinical research studies
undertake wet laboratory research to identify mechanisms and potential treatments of chronic pain using immunology-based technical approaches that include high-parameter cytometry, high-plex imaging and data analysis
supervise PhD and Honours students within the research group
develop and refine independent research skills under the supervision of more senior academic staff
carry out administrative tasks and contribute to the operations of the wider research program
contribute to a positive workplace culture in which diversity of thought, contribution, collaboration, excellence and achieving outcomes are valued and enabled.
About you
doctorate of PhD in immunology or neuroscience, or another relevant field
a developing network of academic, industry and professional partners and stakeholders
a developing research profile in discipline or area of expertise
demonstrated understanding of the subject-matter within the discipline of neuroimmunology
experience conducting original research and/or engaging in scholarly activity, and demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks in a busy environment
ability to effectively communicate.
