Seeking 2IC and Educational Leader at Paisley Park
$35 – $50 per hour based on experience/quals

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking to fill two key leadership roles (2IC and Educational Leader) at our beautiful, purpose-built 120-place Long Day Care Centre in Prospect. Our Centre is very established with long-standing team members who have built reciprocal relationships with families in the local community. Our Centre Director is highly experienced, with the skills and temperament to support any incoming candidate in settling in and transitioning smoothly into their role.
Candidates may apply for either the 2IC position, the Educational Leader position, or both positions, as we are seeking to fill both leadership roles.
TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
As a 2IC, you will support the Director by performing a range of duties. Some of these include:
* Undertaking tasks to support the Centre operationally and maintain viability
* Completing compliance duties to ensure that practices are always of high quality
* Participating in the Quality Improvement Framework, ensuring that you contribute to the QIP by documenting evidence reflecting standards
* When required, completing rosters and effectively managing staffing arrangements
* Participating in our Community Engagement Program to build relationships with the local community
* Contributing to our Communities of Practice Professional Learning Program by reflecting on improvement goals and reporting on progress in exceeding practice
* Engaging in critical reflective practice and documenting leadership decisions
* Working collaboratively with your Director and Portfolio Leader and acting on directives to make service improvements
* Supporting the planning and implementation of the daily learning programs for children, ensuring that documentation is up to date and reflected on our digital platforms
* Engage in daily administrative duties, ensuring that practices, policies and systems are maintained at
* Reflecting on your performance and participating in probationary processes
As the Educational Leader, you will be responsible for leading the Educational Program at the Centre as well as the tasks listed below:
* Ensuring that documentation of learning reflects the diverse interests and developmental needs of the children
* Supporting the team in implementing experiences that challenge, inspire and encourage the children to question
* Assess the quality of Educator observations, reflections and planning decisions, ensuring they reflect the ACECQA planning cycle
* Supporting the implementation of the learning experiences across the Centre and ensuring that documentation is up to date
* Encourage Educators to reflect on their use of digital platforms and ensure that they always represent children respectfully, as capable
* Participating in the Quality Improvement Framework, ensuring that you contribute to the QIP by documenting evidence reflecting standards

Qualifications
* Completed childcare qualifications such as a Diploma in Children's Services or an Early Childhood Degree.
* Graduate Diploma qualified applicants must have at least 3 years of experience working directly with children in an Australian Early Learning Centre.
* Completed Child Protection, Anaphylaxis, Asthma, Senior First Aid and Red Nose training; all certifications must be current at the time of application.
* Understand Child Safe Standards, Curriculum Frameworks and National Quality Standards.
* Demonstrated leadership characteristics to support a dynamic staffing team effectively.
* A minimum of 2-3 years of leadership experience in early childhood education is required for these senior positions.
* Demonstrated evidence in understanding curriculum frameworks, and the ability to mentor Educator practice.
* Experience in managing relationships in and outside of the Centre.
* Be solution-driven, positive and able to work with people from various backgrounds and learning levels.
* Demonstrate positivity and have excellent social skills.
* Have excellent spoken and written English capability.
* Be professionally presented at all times and be willing to abide by our uniform policy.
* Be reliable and can work independently.
* Have a current Working with Children Check (not volunteer).
* Be willing to attend an in-person interview and provide up-to-date reference check details relevant to the role.
