Key Responsibilities:
* Negotiate favorable terms and volume discounts with suppliers for the procurement of goods, services, and supplies.
* Take responsibility for purchases in support of customer-related business processes or for internal use.
* Discuss defects and delivery problems with suppliers and negotiate refunds.
* Coordinate with operations, maintenance, warehouse, and engineering teams to ensure proper scheduling and movement of goods and supplies.
* Utilize experience and problem-solving skills to develop and improve processes.
* Mentor less experienced team members.
* Review and approve supplier invoices with Accounts Payable.
* Contribute to Supplier Performance Evaluations.
Required Education & Experience:
* This position requires US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status due to the sensitivity of customer-related information.
* A bachelor's degree is required, along with 5+ years of experience.
* Knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and NAICS is essential, as well as commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within Government Prime Contractor purchasing.
* You must be organized, detail-oriented, and demonstrate strong time management skills, able to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects with general supervision in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary, as well as adaptability to changing work efforts and shifting priorities.
* Develop and maintain professional relationships with peers, suppliers, and customers, contributing to a professional work environment by demonstrating integrity, teamwork, and a positive attitude.
* Familiarity with MS Office - Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint is a plus.
* Problem-solving skills are essential to develop and improve processes.
* A working knowledge of Contractor Purchasing System Review (CPSR) procedures is also desirable.
