Primary purpose of position
The Business Analyst Lead plays a pivotal role in enhancing the Port's efficiency and effectiveness by engaging and collaborating with stakeholders across all levels of the organisation. Success in this role hinges on strong skills in stakeholder engagement, influence, and facilitation.
As a senior member of the Business Development Team, the Business Analyst Lead provides high-level commercial analysis and strategic insights. This role supports innovation, business development, and trade initiatives, contributing to the Port's long-term growth and strategic objectives.
Position specific responsibilities
* Conduct in-depth analysis of operational and market data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks
* Monitor industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging market opportunities
* Lead the development of business cases, feasibility studies and other assessments related to business growth projects
* Utilising dashboards and standard reporting tools, translate complex data sets into clear, concise insights for use in strategic planning and decision-making
* Provide regular reports and analysis on market dynamics, competitor performance, and potential threats or opportunities
* Manage the development and annual review of the 30 year trade forecast model, berth capacity model and other inputs to the Port Development Plan and Finance budget models as required
* Act as a trusted advisor, providing insights and recommendations to guide decision-making
