Job Description
Kohli's Group Pty Ltd T/A Kohli's Indian Restaurant is looking for a full time Chef for our restaurant located in Nowra NSW 2541 on a full-time basis with a salary between $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per annum plus superannuation.
* Plan and organize the preparation of food as per the menu on a day-to‑day basis
* Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
* Prioritize menus, recipes, and task sheets
* Prepare and use specialised kitchen equipment
* Prepare ingredients (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
* Organize the supplies of the restaurant including groceries, dairy and vegetables
* Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
* Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
* Preparation and cooking of all curry, tandoori and today specials menu items as per proper recipes
* Prepare and cook tailor‑made menus for special orders like birthday, engagement etc parties
* Maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness throughout the kitchen area
* Work cooperatively with other members of the kitchen team
* Stock rotation, food safety & minimizing wastage
Requirements:
* Food Safety Supervisor certificate required
* Cert IV in Cookery or above
* Good knowledge of Indian curry & tandoori cuisine and species required
* Available on weekends and able to work split shifts
* Minimum 2 years of work experience as a Chef
* Ability to work in a team
* Very good communication skills
* Ability to work under pressure and have attention to detail
