In 2026, LWB Education launched our first four flexible learning campuses in Newcastle, Grafton, Mount Druitt, and Dubbo. Each campus currently caters for 15-20 students who are supported on site by 1 - 2 Teachers and a Youth Worker.
As the Youth Worker you will contribute to the wellbeing, engagement and learning for young people in a safe, inclusive and trauma-informed environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Support student learning and engagement through in-class assistance, wellbeing programs, and individual learning plans.
* Foster a safe, inclusive, and trauma-informed environment, supporting cultural identity and diversity.
* Build positive relationships with young people and families to promote wellbeing and life skills.
* Collaborate with teachers, teams, and community agencies to provide integrated support.
* Participate in school routines, activities, and professional development.
* Maintain records and comply with child safety, organisational policies, and legal requirements.
Skills and Experience
* Relevant qualifications in Youth Work or similar and/or equivalent experience such as cultural and community knowledge and experience
* Demonstrated experience engaging and supporting young people with complex needs, their families and communities, to foster young people's engagement in learning
* High level communication skills including the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with young people, families and communities
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to provide and support a range of wellbeing and engagement programs and activities.
* Current First Aid certification
* Current unrestricted Australian Driver's Licence and ability to drive 12 seat vehicles.
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and NSW Working with Children Check.
