Middle School Librarian/Media Specialist Requirements
* New Jersey Instructional Certificate - School Media Specialist
* Knowledge of best practices as outlined by the American Library Association (ALA) and NJ Association of School Librarians (NJASL)
* Knowledge of NJ Student Learning Standards for English Language Arts (6-8) and National School Library Standards
* Ability to organize, catalogue, and classify physical and digital library collection
* Ability to teach students to build skills in literacy and information technology (where applicable)
* Ability to work collaboratively with students, teachers, and administrative staff
* Ability to assist students and staff with the research process and effective use of library databases
* Participate in and offer professional growth activities for colleagues
* Desire to work collaboratively with fellow librarians/media specialists
