Overview
PROJECT MANAGEMENT OFFICER (PMO). Our client is a global Renewable Energy leader, manufacturer of oil and lubricants for the automotive and industrial applications industries. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract based at Melbourne Head Office, to support the Melbourne Customer and Products project lead. The PMO Consultant will play a pivotal role in supporting the successful delivery of a strategic implementation project. Reporting to the Project Lead and as a key member of the project team, you will embed project governance, drive delivery excellence, and ensure alignment across multiple workstreams. Travel as required, including occasional overnight stays.

Responsibilities
- Project Governance & Methodology: Lead the application of project management frameworks and tools to ensure structured, consistent, and high-quality delivery across the program
- Workstream Integration: Provide oversight and coordination across multiple workstreams, ensuring alignment with project objectives, timelines, and interdependencies
- Resource & Capacity Planning: Advise on resource allocation and planning, including tracking availability, travel, and leave to ensure optimal team performance
- Financial Oversight: Monitor and report on project budgets, ensuring financial discipline and supporting forecasting and variance analysis
- Executive Reporting & Governance Support: Prepare high-quality reporting packs and materials for governance forums, steering committees, and stakeholder updates
- Risk & Issue Management: Maintain and monitor the project risk register, ensuring timely escalation and mitigation of risks and issues
- Stakeholder Engagement & Ways of Working: Facilitate effective collaboration across the project team, supporting the Strategy Advisor in embedding efficient ways of working and stakeholder alignment
Preferred Experience
- Proven experience in a PMO Consultant or senior project coordination role within complex, cross-functional projects
- Strong proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project, Azure DevOps (ADO), or equivalent
- Experience in retail operations (e.g., McDonald’s or similar) and/or fuel retail is highly desirable
- Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders, drive delivery, and embed governance frameworks
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team setting

Essential Education
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Project Management, or a related field (desirable but not essential)
