ABOUT THE ROLE
Phoenix Power is seeking an
experienced Accountant
to join our team, supporting the financial and operational success of our organics recycling business. With a strong growth trajectory and a significant government contract in place, this role offers long-term security and the chance to be part of an expanding business in the sustainability sector.
Working closely with the leadership team and the broader finance function, this role covers the full accounting cycle from Accounts Payable/Receivable to producing month end reports – include payroll processing
This is a full-time position (Monday–Friday), hybrid between our
Yatala
office/home, with secure onsite parking and strong opportunities for career growth as the company continues to expand.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Manage end-to-end payroll and payroll systems.
* Complete month-end reporting, including P&L and balance sheets.
* Prepare reconciliations and ensure accuracy across all accounts.
* Support the business with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
* Lodge monthly and yearly statutory reports
* Partner with stakeholders across the business to provide insights and reporting.
* Ensure compliance with accounting principles, company policies, and relevant legislation.
* Assist in system improvements and integration projects.
* Provide hands-on support across finance functions as required.
ABOUT YOU
We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Accountant who thrives in a lean, collaborative environment. You will bring:
* Accounting or Business degree qualification.
* 5+ years of proven experience in accounting.
* Strong working knowledge of accounting principles.
* Excellent reconciliation skills.
* Experience with MYOB Acumatica is highly desirable or similar large ERP systems.
* Advanced knowledge of Microsoft suite of products
* Exceptional attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
* Excellent time management and organisational skills.
* Willingness to be hands-on and adaptable.
* Leadership or management experience would be highly regarded.
