About the Role:

Flinders University is seeking a motivated and research-active Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Biosecurity Risk Modelling to contribute to high-quality teaching and impactful research aligned with the University's strengths in biosecurity, environment and sustainability. This position will focus on the quantitative modelling and prediction of biosecurity risks under current and future climate and socio-economic scenarios, including invasive species, economic impacts, intervention strategies and sustainability outcomes.

The Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Biosecurity Risk Modelling will contribute across:

* High-quality, ethical research in biosecurity risk modelling, including climate-related projections and socio-economic impacts
* Innovative teaching and curriculum development using contemporary, flexible and multi-mode delivery
* Supervision and mentoring of Honours and Higher Degree by Research students (commensurate with level)
* Engagement with industry, government and external stakeholders to enhance teaching, learning and research outcomes

This position is open to national and international candidates, and relocation and visa support may be available.

About You
You are an emerging or established academic with strong quantitative and computational expertise and a passion for addressing real-world biosecurity challenges. You are collaborative, student-focused and research-active, with the ability to contribute meaningfully to teaching excellence, research leadership and external engagement.

Your expertise may align with areas such as biosecurity risk analysis, invasive species modelling, climate-driven risk projection, spatial prioritisation, optimal intervention strategies, socio-economic impacts or policy-relevant modelling.

You will bring:

* A completed PhD or equivalent qualification in biosecurity risk modelling, quantitative risk analysis or a closely related discipline
* Demonstrated experience and effectiveness in tertiary teaching, including curriculum design and delivery across face-to-face and online modes
* A research track record appropriate to career stage, including quality publications and engagement with competitive research funding
* Demonstrated knowledge in advanced quantitative techniques, statistical methodology, modelling complex systems, databasing, and interdisciplinary analytical frameworks.
