We currently have one fixed-term part-time (0.4 FTE) appointment at Perth Children's Hospital and Neonatology, with the possibility of extension(s) and / or permanency.
Position Profile and Role
We are seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist – Policy to join the Safety, Quality and Performance team.
This role enhances the integrated systems underpinning our operations and supports effective clinical governance.
Reporting to the Director of Safety, Quality & Performance, you will provide clinical leadership and expert nursing support to address complex safety and quality issues, influencing paediatric nursing practice and policy across Perth Children's Hospital and Neonatology.
You will coordinate and lead the development, review and implementation of clinical practice policies, ensuring alignment with governance and accreditation requirements, and support the delivery of high-quality, safe care for children and neonates.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and / or coordinate the development of paediatric clinical practice policies, monitoring compliance with relevant standards, legislation and regulatory requirements.
* Promote and facilitate a multidisciplinary approach to decision-making, applying innovative solutions to complex clinical policy issues within and beyond the hospital setting.
* Ensure that clinical practice policy changes are disseminated, and that associated electronic resources are maintained.
* Champion and support teams to deliver safe, high-quality health care with a focus on continual improvement, efficiency, effectiveness and sustainability.

About Our Directorate
The PCHN Safety, Quality and Performance team plays a vital role in ensuring safe, high-quality care for children and families.
We lead the development, implementation and ongoing review of systems that support excellence in care delivery, providing oversight for quality improvement initiatives, clinical incident management, and policy development.
Working closely with divisional teams and CAHS Safety, Quality and Performance, we strengthen governance frameworks and ensure compliance with national standards.
