Opportunity
Reporting to the Senior Technical Officer, the Animal Technical Officer plays a key role in the coordination and delivery of sow-based research trials across multiple sites in Queensland, New South Wales and South Australia.
This is a hands-on role based
north of Adelaide
, and combines animal husbandry, data collection and research support, contributing to both internal trials and externally funded research projects. You'll work closely with technical specialists, farm teams and external research partners to deliver accurate, timely and high-quality data.

Your key responsibilities will include:
* Coordinate and conduct research trials across nutrition, reproduction, genetics, and animal health and welfare
* Collect accurate animal and computer-based data in line with project protocols
* Perform daily trial-related husbandry tasks including feeding, weighing and animal health monitoring
* Maintain research equipment and ensure data integrity
* Support workplace health, safety, animal welfare and biosecurity standards
* Assist with small projects under guidance from the Senior Technical Officer
About you
You're curious, organised and comfortable working hands-on with animals in a production environment, while also managing data and research requirements.
You will bring:
* A degree or diploma in Agriculture, Animal Science or a related field
(or equivalent experience)
* An understanding of intensive animal production systems
* Strong organisational, problem-solving and communication skills
* Confidence working independently following detailed protocols
* Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including weekends when required
* Good computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
Previous experience in animal performance trials is an advantage but not essential.
