Overview
Technology, Data & Communications Senior Associate (Brisbane) at Ashurst. This role is part of the Digital Economy Transactions Team and involves working on the full range of technology, data and digital infrastructure matters. The role will work closely with Partners nationally and may involve international matters with the broader team.

Responsibilities
* Advise on the full suite of technology matters including software and systems, internet legal issues, technology licensing, data, cyber, privacy, cloud computing, digital transformation and innovation, fintech, commercial contracts, procurements, complex projects and outsourcings, telecommunications, regulatory matters, and technology mergers, acquisitions and disposals.
* Collaborate with Partners nationally and access international matters within the Digital Economy Transactions Team.
* Assist on client matters such as due diligence, negotiations and settlements of agreements (e.g., Transitional Services Agreements) in technology and digital transactions.
* Provide advice on cybersecurity incidents and regulatory considerations; advise on potential liability for breaches of law in relevant engagements.
* Work on contracts for compliance with regulatory frameworks (e.g., DORA, APRA CPS 230) as part of a global team with colleagues in the United Kingdom and Singapore.

About You
* Australian Bachelor of Laws with 7+ years post-qualification experience in a technology, cyber security and privacy practice.
* Experience or familiarity with the Queensland Information Technology Contracting (QITC) Framework, Security of Critical Infrastructure Act and APRA CPS 230 is highly advantageous.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to negotiate contracts with a commercial perspective.
* Strong attention to detail with well-developed analytical skills; proactive, positive, energetic approach and commitment to client service and relationship building.
