JAY Q Plastering Australia Pty. Ltd. is seeking a skilled and reliable Painter to join our growing team. This role involves applying paint, varnish, wallpaper, and other finishes to protect, maintain, and enhance the appearance of residential and commercial buildings and structures.
Key Responsibilities
* Erect scaffolding and ladders, and place drop sheets to protect surrounding areas from paint splatter
* Prepare surfaces by removing old paint and wallpaper, repairing woodwork, filling holes and cracks, and smoothing and sealing surfaces
* Select and prepare paints to required colours by mixing pigments, oils, and thinning and drying additives
* Apply paints, varnishes, and stains using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment
* Hang wallpaper, ensuring accurate pattern matching and clean edge trimming
* Clean and maintain equipment and work areas after completion
* Perform minor repairs such as fixing windows and replacing glass in wooden or metal frames as required
Qualifications & Requirements
* AQF Certificate III with at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV in Painting and Decorating or a related field
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Good physical fitness and ability to work at heights
* Registration or licensing may be required depending on local regulations
