Overview
This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 1, 2026. Kalgoorlie-Boulder Community High School (KBCHS) supports a diverse student population and a strong Pacifica of pastoral care with a dedicated year coordinator and student support officer for each year group. The school offers secondary courses from Year 7 to 10 and has a staff focused on delivering engaging curriculum across a range of subjects and programs.

The Role
The Assistant Gardener - Handyperson will provide gardening, grounds, and facility management support to ensure a safe and clean school environment. They will maintain and present the school grounds and gardens in an attractive, clean, and tidy condition, and provide a suitable growing environment for both soft and hard landscaping, including turf management. The successful applicant will perform minor repairs and maintenance as requested, and undertake other duties in accordance with Department policies and guidelines. A high level of attention to detail is highly regarded.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and present the school grounds and gardens; manage soft and hard landscaping, including turf.
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance as required by school needs and Department policies.
- Ensure a secure, clean, and attractive school environment for staff, students and the community.
Eligibility and Requirements
- Obtain a valid Working With Children Check.
- Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
- Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
