**The Role**
As a member of the Estate Engineering Policy directorate you will be part of a multi-disciplinary team that is the engineering policy lead for a number of critical infrastructure areas across the Defence estate including airfields, electrical systems, mechanical engineering, fire engineering and fire safety and permanent live fire training ranges.
The directorate is responsible for the implementation and management of Defence's Estate Governance and Integrity System.
You will have principal responsibility for reviewing, updating and providing advice on policy associated with one or more of the critical infrastructure areas outlined above. Members of the team are expected to work closely with Defence infrastructure and enabling service delivery agencies and across government with agencies such as the Civil Aviation Safety Authority and the Australian Building Codes Board.
There are also instances where State and Territory governments and industry bodies are key stakeholders in the development and operation of the estate.
**About our Team**
The Directorate is directly responsible for and manages the policies for Estate Governance and Integrity, Building Works, Fire Safety engineering, Airfield pavements inspection and maintenance, Aeronautical Ground Lighting, electrical services and infrastructure, HVAC, safety showers and eyes washes and live firing ranges design and compliance.
The team comprises, mechanical, civil, fire, electrical and systems engineers, fire safety officers as well as a dedicated team of specialist looking at the design and compliance of live firing training ranges.
