About the role
The Horticulture Assistant will undertake horticultural maintenance activities to support the ongoing management of the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens (RTBG) living collections, and will play a key role in supporting the organisation on weekends.
* Assist in supporting the horticultural work programs across the Gardens
* Provide key support to our Events team on weekends
* Monitor plant health and development.
* Maintain the automatic irrigation systems, horticultural equipment, and machinery.

Desirable requirements
* A Certificate III in Horticulture or an equivalent level, relevant to the nature of the work to be undertaken, as provided by either a vocational education organisation or a registered and accredited training provider.
* Chemical certification.
* Workplace Level 2 First Aid certificate.
* A current motor vehicle driver’s licence (manual).
