Due to continued growth, we are seeking a Quality and Food Safety Officer to join our Technical and Quality Assurance team at our Morley head office, working afternoon shift (2:00 pm – 10:06 pm).
About the role
The main focus of this role is to support the Quality and Technical functions to ensure our facilities, processes, and products consistently meet quality and food safety standards. You will ensure compliance with product specifications, customer requirements, and the Aus Pie Co Quality Manual.
Key responsibilities:
* Identify, evaluate and control food safety hazards and incidents, including product or process isolation when required.
* Conduct internal audits and GMP inspections as per the Aus Pie Co Quality Manual schedule.
* Review raw material specifications in collaboration with the Regulatory and R&D teams.
* Draft and implement SOPs, work instructions, QC sheets, and Quality Attribute Sheets for new or changing processes.
* Analyse process control trends and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
* Conduct food safety and quality verification activities in line with the HACCP plan.
* Actively participate in the close-out of Corrective Action Reports (CARs) and hazard/incident investigations.
* Partner with departments such as R&D, Manufacturing and HSE to drive quality improvement and ensure alignment with business needs.
* Other duties as directed by the Quality Systems Lead, consistent with the scope of the position.
About you
We're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented individual with a passion for food safety and quality, who brings:
* Experience in a similar analytical or process-driven role within food manufacturing or FMCG.
* A strong focus on process adherence, problem-solving and continuous improvement.
* A genuine interest in food and the ability to assess products for quality and compliance.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a small team and liaise across departments.
* Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
* The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and balance multiple priorities.
* An understanding of project management principles (advantageous).
