Senior Bookkeeper (Casual) - Remote | Flexible Hours | Performance Bonuses
Essential Figures Bookkeeping is a friendly, supportive, fully remote bookkeeping practice. Our small team is based across Perth and the Southwest, and we help business owners feel confident and in control of their numbers.
We're looking for an experienced Senior Bookkeeper who can take ownership of their own client portfolio, support our team, and bring calm, organised problem‑solving to the workday. If you're tech‑savvy, love working smart, and thrive in a remote environment, you'll be a fantastic fit.
What You'll Be Doing
In this casual role, you'll manage your own clients and act as a helpful filter for questions from both clients and team members, ensuring only genuinely complex matters reach the Principal.
Your responsibilities include:
* Managing end‑to‑end bookkeeping for your allocated clients
* Building warm, professional client relationships
* Handling day‑to‑day client communication and requests
* Supporting team members by filtering and resolving routine questions
* Spotting issues early and resolving them before they escape
* Processing payroll across multiple industries and awards
* Maintaining clean reconciliations and month‑end processes
* Communicating clearly and kindly
* Working within our QMS to maintain consistent standards
* Using technology confidently to troubleshoot and work efficiently
About You
You'll thrive with us if you:
* Have 5+ years of solid bookkeeping experience
* Have bookkeeping firm experience with multiple clients (must have)
* Enjoy building positive working relationships with clients
* Are a natural problem solver who can think one step ahead
* Can answer routine queries from clients and staff with confidence
* Know when to upsell an issue and when you can handle it independently
* Communicate with warmth, clarity, and professionalism
* Have strong payroll experience
* Possess a minimum of 3+ years of independent payroll experience
* Are comfortable with technology, cloud systems, and general troubleshooting
* Demonstrated experience in Xero, MYOB would be a bonus
* Are reliable, organised and take pride in clean, accurate files
* Enjoy working 100% remotely with a supportive team
* BAS Agent registration is not required.
Casual hourly rate: $45–$50 per hour depending on experience
Quarterly Performance Bonus
Based on our Net Client Value Bonus, rewarding quality work, retention, and efficiency.
Initial hours 5 - 8 hours per week with expected growth as client portfolio expands.
