Job Title: Regional Editorial Leader
About the Job:
We are seeking an experienced editorial leader to drive news gathering, community engagement and talent development for our regional bureau. As a key member of our team, you will lead a dynamic group of journalists and radio program specialists to deliver compelling news for local communities and national audiences.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement editorial plans to create engaging content for various platforms.
* Edit and provide feedback to local team members to ensure content meets high standards.
* Recruit and develop the local team to meet agreed objectives.
* Foster collaboration within the team and across the organization to support content development.
* Manage emergency coverage and stakeholder communication.
* Collaborate on community activities and national projects to grow audience engagement.
Requirements:
* Editorial Expertise: A strong background in journalism with a keen eye for detail and commitment to accuracy, fairness and innovation.
* Leadership: Experience in leading and inspiring teams, managing multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines.
* Audience Engagement: Understanding of audience analytics and ability to tailor content to diverse audiences.
* Community Engagement: Deep knowledge of regional issues and skill in building community contacts.
* Collaboration: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with teams.
* Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to digital content needs and willingness to embrace new challenges.
