The Role
As a Team Leader, you will provide clinical and operational leadership, oversee safety and casework quality and ensure fidelity to evidence-based models including Parents under Pressure (PUP), Trauma Expression and Connection Assessment (TECA) and Safe & Together.
You will work closely with the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) and community partners while fostering a reflective, supportive and high-performing team culture.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: -
* Lead and supervise a multidisciplinary family preservation team
* Co-ordinate referrals, case allocation, and workload management
* Provide reflective supervision and facilitate case reviews
* Ensure strong risk assessment, safety planning and child safeguarding
* Embed and disseminate Families Together core components and framework
* Disseminate and maintain fidelity to PUP, TECA and Safe & Together
* Act as a key liaison point with DCJ and external agencies
* Monitor team performance, targets and reporting requirements
* Promote staff wellbeing, vicarious trauma mitigation and professional development
* Contribute to continuous improvement, audits and program evaluations
About You - Essential Criteria
* Master's degree in Social Work, Social Science or Counselling or a Bachelor degree with at least 5years experience leading family preservation teams
* Demonstrated experience supervising and supporting multidisciplinary family preservation teams
* High level knowledge and experience in trauma healing approaches and complex case work
* High level experience of implementation, dissemination and fidelity to evidence-based models and frameworks – preferred experience in Parents Under Pressure, Trauma Expressions and Connection Assessments and Safe & Together
* Experience working within family preservation contexts, including working with whole families and natural support networks
* Demonstrated experience working alongside of and implementing family led, culturally safe practice with First Nation families
* Strong risk assessment, safety planning, natural support network inclusion and activation, and decision-making capabilities informed by evidence
* Ability to work flexible hours (6am-8pm within allocated weekly hours)
* Sound computer literacy skills, including high level usage of all MS365 (Word, Excel, SharePoint, Lists, Forms, Outlook) Client Management Systems and Infoshare
* Current National Police Check (issued within the last 6 months)
* Valid Working with Children Check (provided prior to interview)
* Possess a current HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid Qualification & CPR
* Hold a current driver's licence and access to a reliable, comprehensively insured vehicle
* Willingness to participate in supervision, training, dissemination and fidelity to evidence-based frameworks and models and professional internal and external supervision to comply with The Canopy's training and capability framework
* Strong written communications kills, including case notes and reports
* Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to Privacy & Confidentiality, Child Safe Standards & Safeguarding, Child Protection, and WH&S legislation
