Intrax Consulting Engineers is an Australian owned, mid-sized engineering company that provides an end-to-end service across structural, civil, residential, building services, forensic, surveying and geotechnical engineering. We are seeking an Intermediate-level Structural Engineer to join our Housing team in Brisbane.
Responsibilities
* Deliver high quality and innovative structural designs and documentation for building structures with medium to large complexity, such as architecturally designed houses, estate development of units/townhouses, and associated facilities such as community centres and gymnasiums, with potential opportunities to be involved in multi-level building structures and light commercial buildings.
* Run projects from concept design to construction within budget and delivery time frames, with support from experienced and collaborative BE teams.
* Assist in client management with existing clients and other relevant project stakeholders across multiple disciplines.
* Support account management activities, including maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring client satisfaction throughout project delivery.
* Assist in developing graduate/junior engineers within the team in alignment with company goals, procedures and strategy.
* Cultivate a client-focused approach in daily work, emphasising responsiveness, timely delivery and professionalism.
Requirements
* A minimum qualification of Bachelor Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from a recognised tertiary institution.
* 1-3 years post-grad structural design experience in residential or building industry.
* Experience in the design of residential/low rise structural buildings.
* Experience in design using timber structures, reinforced concrete, steel structures, and designs of waffle, raft, suspended slab, retaining walls, etc.
* Proficient in engineering design software tools such as ClearCalcs, Space Gass, Toolkit, Inducta (advantageous), RAPT (advantageous).
* An ability to build rapport with clients and project stakeholders.
* Advanced ability to interpret the requirements of Australian standards and building codes, design in accordance with AS2870, AS1684, AS1170, AS3600, AS4100, NCC, etc.
