South Western Sydney Local Health District is seeking a highly motivated Senior Exercise Physiologist to join the Growing Healthy Kids Paediatric Weight Management Service. This role supports children and young people who are above a healthy weight, delivering integrated, family‑oriented care within a multidisciplinary team. The position involves providing clinical support to junior Exercise Physiologists, supervising student placements, and collaborating to deliver coordinated care for clients. This is a temporary role with potential for extension or permanency.
What You’ll Be Doing
Provide client‑centred, high‑quality exercise physiology services within the Growing Healthy Kids Paediatric Obesity Management Service. Responsibilities include tailored assessment and intervention, and facilitation of exercise programs for clients. You will manage individual consumers, collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, supervise students and junior staff as appropriate, and participate in service improvement and professional development.
Where You’ll Be Working
SWSLHD Primary & Community Health delivers a range of community‑based services aimed at improving health and wellbeing across South Western Sydney. Services include prevention, early intervention, assessment, treatment, health maintenance and continuing care. The team supports diverse populations with specialized programs for children, young people, older adults and at‑risk communities. The district employs over 800 staff to provide high‑quality care close to communities.

- Recognised tertiary qualification in Exercise Physiology and eligibility for membership of Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA).
- Relevant clinical experience, including management of a complex caseload and specialist knowledge in paediatrics and obesity management, or extensive experience across chronic diseases.
- Ability to prescribe and deliver tailored exercise programs for children and their families to support engagement and long‑term health outcomes.
- Experience in service development, quality improvement and application of evidence‑based practice in exercise physiology.
- Experience in clinical supervision of students and staff.
- Australian C‑Class driver’s licence (or NSW licence within 3 months if currently held elsewhere). Learner licences are not permitted.
