Overview
If you are looking to expand your technical expertise, this role offers a pathway into calibration, quality, mechanical or perhaps engineering roles. This is a practical hands-on role working directly with precision torque equipment, performing calibrations and repairs that are critical across industries. Your role is to maintain the accuracy and dependability of torque equipment by performing calibrations in accordance with defined standards. Torque tool calibration at Norbar is a highly specialised and quality-assured process designed to ensure torque equipment performs with maximum accuracy, safety, and reliability. Our laboratory is climate controlled for calibrations (note: you will have the benefit of working in air-conditioned comfort!).

Schedule and Location
The shift duration ranges from 4 hours to a maximum of 7.5 hours during our business hours, which are from 8.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday (no weekend work). Typical workload is 10–15 hours per week, with extra hours available during peak times. We are looking for someone who would like to work for two years. On-the-job-training is provided by our experienced lab employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure tools are acclimatized in line with procedures and requirements
- Perform calibrations on torque tools and instruments to meet ISO and company standards
- Maintain high-quality laboratory records
- Ensure compliance with quality assurance protocols and safety standards
- Support and communicate effectively with team members regarding calibration status and results
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the calibration lab
Skills & Qualifications
- Certificate or Diploma in Laboratory, Metrology, Engineering, Mechanical, Quality or STEM field
- Previous experience in calibration, instrumentation, or quality control (advantageous)
- Process oriented with the ability to perform repetitive tasks whilst maintaining excellent attention to detail
- Quality-focused with a robust commitment to accuracy, reliability, and compliance with standards
- Aptitude to learn and calculate torque principles
- Aptitude using various software tools for business and technical tasks
- Proficient time management and organizational abilities
- Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team
- Effective communication skills across team environments
- Ability to lift to 20kg, bend, squat and reach overhead
- Willingness to undertake a pre-employment medical
