Band 8 Annualised from $135,657.16 to $150,620.20
About The Role
The role will play a leading role in delivering some of the City's largest and most exciting projects. In the position you will plan, procure, and execute the delivery of community infrastructure. You will be required to engage with stakeholders, manage consultants and contractors and work in a collaborative manner seeking to achieve balanced outcomes on behalf of the organisation and Ballarat community.
Reporting directly to the Manager Project Delivery, you will be responsible for the delivery of a community infrastructure portfolio within the Major Projects business unit, in the Infrastructure and Environment division.
About You
The City of Ballarat is seeking an enthusiastic and collaborative leader with prior Project Management experience either in the delivery of community infrastructure for Local Government, or in the building construction industry in a senior design or construction management role. To be considered for this exciting opportunity you will demonstrate your ability to plan and prioritise projects within a set timeframe and work collaboratively with stakeholders and contractors to deliver desired outcomes. You will be driven to deliver outcomes with a collaborative approach and be confident to navigate complex relationships and interact with key internal and external stakeholders.
Good knowledge of Project Management principles, technical experience in design or site supervisory and construction management context would be highly desirable.
Key Selection Criteria
Tertiary qualification or significant demonstrated experience in relevant field (construction management, engineering, project management, architecture etc) with well-developed project management skills.
Demonstrated ability in delivering complex community infrastructure in excess of $10m.
Extensive contract and contractor management experience, preferably from the local government perspective.
High standard of report writing and project documentation.
Demonstrated budgeting, management and negotiation of variations and claims, cost control and financial reporting experience.
Excellent interpersonal communication and stakeholder relationship management skills.
Knowledge and understanding of health and safety issues relevant to the position.
