Overview

The Residential Services Program aims to provide increased opportunities for recovery for people whose lives are severely affected by mental illness. The aim is to support recovery, reduce social isolation and improve independent living and employment outcomes. The Residential Services Program uses a strengths-based approach and provides intensive one-to-one support. The program supports people with mental illness into independent living in the Community through a number of recovery-focused mental health programs and settings.

The current shifts being offered are Day, Afternoon, and Evening Shifts, with some shifts including a sleepover, so flexibility is key.

Responsibilities

* Assist participants in a strength-based, psychosocial rehabilitation framework, focusing on living, learning, working and socialising.
* Support participants to develop their Individual Recovery Plan (IRP) and assist in access and referral to appropriate support services as identified in the plan.
* Contribute to recovery by helping participants achieve independent living in the community.
* Be willing to work across all residential programs and participate in a 24/7 roster as required.

Program Experience and Settings

* Step Up Step Down – sub-acute support service for four weeks or up to 12 weeks, including step up from the community and step down from inpatient care.
* Prevention and Recovery Care (PARC) – sub-acute residential care for up to 28 days with integrated psychosocial and clinical services, in partnership with TEMHS as either a step up or step down.
* Medium-Longer Term Psychosocial Rehabilitation – longer-term residential program to support people with severe mental illness in learning living skills within a psychosocial rehabilitation framework.
* Complex Support Residence – medium-long term psychosocial rehabilitation for people unable to live safely in the community.
* Home and Living – psychosocial rehabilitation in residential homes funded through NDIS.

Key Selection Criteria

Essential for Position

* A National Police Certificate issued within the last two years or proof of an application for one.
* Working with Children Check.
* A current Driver's Licence.
* NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
* NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate.
* Appropriate qualifications in a community services, mental health or related area.
* Demonstrated understanding of the recovery model and psychosocial rehabilitation.
* Demonstrated experience in delivering services to people with mental illness and psychiatric disability in a community setting.
* Demonstrated ability to uphold the rights of people with a mental illness and their carers.
* Demonstrated ability to form partnerships with participants, carers, clinical services and other service providers.
* Demonstrated high level of communication skills (written and verbal).
* Demonstrated ethical work practices including appropriate personal boundaries.
* Action oriented, flexible and innovative approach.
* Demonstrated computer literacy in a Microsoft Office environment.

Desirable for Position

* Certificate IV in Mental Health or willingness to obtain.
* First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain.
