POSITION & DAIRY
Bowman Farm has an exciting opportunity for a full-time position as a Senior Dairy Cattle Worker / Dairy cattle Farm Operator available on our family owned and operated 600 cow dairy farm. Located 10km from Gloucester on the Mid North Coast NSW.
The role available is to work alongside our herdsperson operating closely with them and assisting all required detail for total animal and herd management. This role requires a high level of patience, attention to detail and cleanliness.

* A Person already within the industry who has 1-3+ year's experience and is interested in taking on the role.

The hours required for the role are:
40-50 hours per week on a rotational roster with guaranteed overtime available. Weekend work will also be required within the rostered period.
Our dairy herd is predominantly Holstein based, with batched calving year-round.
We are a both pasture and TMR fed system, with 70% of feed home grown.
The dairy is a fully automated 30 a-side herringbone rapid exit, containing auto I.D, auto feed, auto cup removal, auto draft etc.
The candidate we are seeking must want to be part of a dynamic team, be honest, reliable, and flexible.
Extensive experience in the area is not required, with a love for working with and caring for animals a driving factor of the role. Positive attitude, good work ethic, high level of cleanliness, communication and common sense are among attributes required.
This is a permanent long-term position and would suit someone looking for stability as well as, the opportunity to develop and progress within the company and dairy industry.
Duties will involve but are not limited to:
* milk harvesting
* dairy start-up/ shut-down/ clean-up
* dairy hygiene, maintaining milk quality and assurance
* herd health, mastitis control/ treatment/ record keeping
* computer data entry and software usage
* cleaning
* dairy maintenance
* calf and heifer rearing
* heat detection
* drying off stock
* animal maintenance and welfare
* feeding stock and total stock treatments
Salary is as per the award - $70K – $80K+ - Subject to experience.
