Workshop Foreman / Maintenance Controller
Full-Time | Shepparton
We are a growing transport business with a busy in-house workshop servicing a mixed fleet of trucks and trailers. With over 220 registered assets, our maintenance team is the heart of the business.
We are seeking a Workshop Foreman / Controller — not another mechanic on the tools, but someone who can run the floor, manage the schedule, and keep the team accountable.
The Role
This is a control and coordination role.
Your job is to:
* Maintain and run the daily and weekly workshop schedule
* Allocate jobs to mechanics ahead of time (with parts ready)
* Monitor start times, job times, and productivity
* Keep mechanics on task, on time, and moving
* Track job progress and flag delays early
* Ensure job cards are completed correctly and signed off
* Liaise with parts and management to keep workflow smooth
* Hold standards around punctuality, efficiency, and output
You are the person who keeps the workshop flowing.
What We're Looking For
* Previous experience as a Workshop Foreman, Controller, or Senior Service Advisor
* Strong organisational and people-management skills
* Comfortable holding tradespeople accountable
* Confident managing schedules, deadlines, and performance
* Mechanically minded (you understand the work, even if you're not on the tools all day)
* Calm, firm, and structured — not reactive or chaotic
What This Is NOT
* Not a full-time mechanic role
* Not a role for someone who dislikes structure or accountability
What We Offer
* Stable, long-term role in a growing business
* Clear authority and backing from management
* Competitive salary based on experience
* Opportunity to shape and improve how the workshop operates
