We're looking for a qualified Motor Mechanic (Heavy Vehicle) to join our Yatala Workshop within the Asset Services - Fleet Maintenance.
Join our dedicated fleet and specialist equipment team who are responsible for ensuring our fire trucks and equipment are kept in safe working order, so our firefighters can attend emergency incidents and keep the community safe.

Purpose of the role
We're looking for a qualified Motor Mechanic (Heavy Vehicle) to join our Yatala Workshop within the Asset Services - Fleet Maintenance directorate.
In This Role, You'll
* Service, repair and maintain a range of heavy and light emergency vehicles, plant and equipment.
* Diagnose faults and perform preventative maintenance to manufacturer and QFD standards.
* Apply your technical expertise to ensure vehicles are safe, reliable and operationally ready.
* Work collaboratively with skilled tradespeople and technical officers in a supportive, safety-focused environment.
* Maintain accurate service records and contribute to fleet improvement initiatives.
About You

To Succeed, You'll Bring
* A recognised qualification as a Motor Mechanic (Heavy Vehicle) or equivalent trade certificate.
* Experience in maintaining and repairing heavy vehicles (government or emergency service fleet experience highly regarded).
* Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving skills.
* Current C Class Driver Licence (MR/HR Licence desirable).
* Commitment to safety, teamwork and high-quality outcomes.
Special requirements
* Provide an after‑hours rostered on‑call service for the provision of urgent maintenance/repairs for fire appliances/heavy vehicles and equipment.
