A permanent opportunity to join the VBA as a Building Surveyor - Special Projects to support the Office of the State Building Surveyor (SBS) to deliver a range of high priority projects under the SBS's project delivery requirements, relating to the building and construction system and development of reform changes required to build an effective and improved building system.
The Office of the State Building Surveyor has a focus on building and enhancing the capability of industry stakeholders such as building surveyors, practitioners and consumers. This role supports the identification and facilitation of educational needs, regulatory reforms and process changes to promote best practise and improve compliance. This role will be responsible for the implementation and/or ongoing delivery of nominated projects to achieve the VBA's strategic goals and responsibilities under the Building Act.
The role will require stakeholder engagement both internally and with externally with relevant industry parties to develop programs and deliver on VBA initiatives to improve industry outcomes.
Who we are looking for
- Qualified Building Surveyor (current registration of eligibility for unlimited registration preferred)
- Demonstrated strong experience in developing and implementing strategic plans and delivering programs that achieve strategic outcomes.
- Ability to manage, monitor and negotiate organisational wide projects and programs, including managing resources, project teams, contracts and associated budgets in a deadline driven environment.
