About
the Role
Due to the
expediential growth within the City of Wanneroo, we are seeking an
enthusiastic and motivated Building Surveyor to join our
award-winning Building Services team.
As a Senior
Building Surveyor for the City, you will collaborate with
residents, stakeholders, and industry professionals to effectively
and efficiently carry out regulatory building control functions.
You'll provide building and planning services that meet the
customers' needs while adhering to Building Regulations and
Corporate standards.
As a leading
member of the Building Services team, you will apply your expertise
and judgment while following established policies and procedures to
handle daily tasks like assessments, inspections and
certifications.
You will be
responsible for:
* Processing building
applications within statutory timeframes, providing a high
level of customer service and ensuring compliance with the
Building Code of Australia, Building Act 2011, Building
Regulations 2012 and the Residential Design Codes;
* Ensures
compliance with relevant legislation, standards and the City
requirements, minimising refunds as required under the Building
Act if timeframes are not met;
* Acts as
a point of contact for customers and stakeholders and responds
to enquiries ensuring that these are addressed, resolved and/or
re-directed for resolution;
* Engage
with customers and stakeholders, assisting with enquiries to
ensure the matter is addressed, resolved and/or re-directed for
resolution; and
* Undertakes research and
analysis in assigned areas, reviewing alternative solutions and
design principles.
About
You
You will be an
adaptable and experienced Building Surveyor who thrives working in
a busy and change driven organisation. As such, you will be
able to demonstrate through your resume and covering letter that
you meet the following capabilities:
* Qualification in a
relevant discipline such as Advanced Diploma in Building
Surveying or Bachelor of Building Surveying;
* Registered as a Building
Surveying Practitioner with the Department of Energy, Mines,
Industry Regulation and Safety.
* Relevant
experience in a similar role;
* Strong
customer service skills with the ability to communicate with a
wide variety of stakeholders in a professional
manner;
* An
ability to employ the City's corporate values in your
day-to-day work;
* Valid C
Class Drivers Licence; and
* Strong
organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing
tasks
