About Us

Australian Veteran Health Services (AVHS) is a purpose-driven, multi-disciplinary medical organisation founded by veterans, for veterans. With clinics in Springfield QLD, Daw Park SA and Deakin ACT we specialise in supporting current and former Defence personnel as they transition to civilian life, offering expert assistance with DVA claims, Initial Liability Reports, Permanent Impairment Assessments, VRB reports, and ADF Transition Medicals.

The Opportunity

We are seeking dedicated and experienced Psychiatrists to support our caring team. You will join an integrated, multidisciplinary service that values collaboration, clinical support, and shared care. Our growing wellbeing group offers an environment where your work will be closely supported with experienced psychologists, wellbeing clinicians, general practitioners, and clinical teams to deliver coordinated, high‐quality patient care.

Assessments can be completed anywhere in Australia, via telehealth or in person at one of our clinics and are conducted in accordance with the Medicare Benefits Scheme (MBS). Any treatment recommendations will be administered and followed up by the veteran's treating General Practitioner and psychologist to ensure patients receive continuity and well‐coordinated follow-up care!

Where a diagnosis is determined as being clearly linked to ADF service history, veterans may elect to lodge a DVA claim. In such cases, your expertise will be instrumental in completing Diagnostic and Assessment reports.

Competitive Advantages & Professional Support

Dedicated Clinical Support: AVHS streamlines the assessment process by managing the bulk of clinical tasks, ensuring psychiatrists can focus predominately on clinical evaluations.

Expert Peer Network: Access to a professional network of experienced clinicians specialising in veteran health and transition services.

Ongoing Training & Development: Opportunities for professional growth, and expert-led discussions on veteran mental health.

A Meaningful Impact: Work with a purpose by directly contributing to the wellbeing and rehabilitation of those who have served our country.

Industry-Leading Standards: Be part of an organisation that upholds the highest clinical and ethical standards in veteran healthcare.

Recognition & Appreciation: Your expertise will be highly valued within an organisation that truly understands and prioritises veteran needs.

Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP)

Full AHPRA registration
