What's the role?
This role will be responsible for designing and implementing PostgreSQL database solutions, ensuring security and compliance, and collaborating with teams to deliver business aligned outcomes.
Key responsibilities include automating operations with DevOps tools, optimising database performance, and providing technical guidance through documentation, presentations, and workshops.
The role also involves staying updated on PostgreSQL trends and acting as the escalation point for complex issues.
What do I need?
Essential: Architecture & Design: Deep understanding of PostgreSQL database technology stack architecture, including infrastructure and storage including deployments in cloud providers like Azure and AWS.
Database Security: Advanced knowledge of security best practices, encryption, auditing, and compliance requirements.
Automation & DevOps: Expertise in scripting and tools like Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform or similar.
Performance Tuning: Proficiency in using tools and settings for diagnosing and optimising databases.
Secondary Skills: Exposure to PostgreSQL, Cosmos or other NoSQL databases.
Flexible working hours may be required to support critical systems.
Desirable: Advanced SQL, Python and Shell development skills.
Engineering and holistic technology stack experience.
PostgreSQL certification is highly desirable but not mandatory.
