About the company With a successful history spanning over three decades, our client is a well-established national leader in the heavy machinery attachment sector. They are renowned for supplying and servicing high-quality concrete equipment for the construction, mining, and civil industries. This company fosters a supportive team environment focused on providing genuine opportunities for long-term career progression and technical development. About the role Are you ready to own and define a major market presence for a premium concrete equipment brand? This is a key appointment to lead the re-engagement of the Melbourne and greater Victoria region for a growing, family-owned Australian business. This role offers the flexibility of a work-from-home arrangement, allowing you to be based anywhere in the wider Melbourne region. While you'll manage your schedule autonomously from home, your week will involve extensive travel throughout the region to build relationships. The market is established, but the business hasn't had a dedicated person on the ground in Melbourne for a few years, making this a pivotal opportunity for a motivated professional. Your success will be measured by your ability to revive existing customer relationships and drive new business growth across the civil, construction, and mining sectors. Our client is an exclusive distributor of high-quality European and American concrete, screed and grout equipment. They've built their success on exceptional customer service and a tight-knit, supportive team culture where your contribution is truly valued. This is your chance to join them in an exciting growth phase and build a long-term career. Your Key Responsibilities: Proactively re-engage and secure new business opportunities across the Melbourne and Victorian market. Develop and execute a strategic sales plan focused on re-establishing the brand's physical presence. Build and maintain lasting relationships with key decision-makers across both existing and prospective accounts. Conduct frequent on-site client visits, meetings, and product demonstrations throughout the region. Manage the entire sales process from initial contact to closing the deal. What You'll Bring to the Role: A proven background as a proactive Business Development Manager (BDM) with a track record of driving new sales. The discipline and drive to excel in an autonomous, work-from-home, high-travel position. Mechanical aptitude or experience with heavy or related construction machinery. A strategic, solution-focused approach to sales, not just quoting. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. An attractive remuneration package will be offered to the successful candidate, with an uncapped package of around $150k - 180k plus super and company vehicle (or car allowance).
