About the RoleInspection, basic maintenance, and testing of multimedia (air, water, and solid) portable environmental monitoring equipment used in an oil complex, including stack monitoring equipment, PID, FID analyzers, etc. Responsibilities also include maintaining inventory of spares for these equipment, record keeping of all related items managed by the environmental team, and providing environmental and regulatory technical support.Position DetailsTitle: Environmental Regulatory Technician IILocation: MelbourneContract Duration: 12 monthsSkills and QualificationsExperience with an oil and gas company in SSHE and/or regulatory compliance.Preferably experienced in construction or extractive industries, especially in international construction projects involving environmental, regulatory, socioeconomic, and health aspects.Degree in Environmental or Natural Sciences, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science, Technology (AS or BS), or related discipline (preferred but not mandatory).Technical knowledge related to SSHE management.Understanding of basic industry project construction principles and techniques, with a preference for upstream petroleum industry experience.Ability to instruct contractors and project workers regarding regulatory compliance and SHE&S performance/implementation.Knowledge of Environmental, Regulatory, Safety, and Health processes, Government Affairs/Regulatory Compliance, and related tools.Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint for reporting.Advanced user of Adobe for document management.Tasks & ResponsibilitiesAssist Senior Environment Engineer and Environment Engineers in routine environmental monitoring and data collection activities.Perform other environment-related activities assigned by the Senior Environment Engineer and/or Environment Engineer.Administer the RegFrame database, produce quarterly 'Regulatory Compliance Deliverables Report,' collate responses, and enter feedback into RegFrame.Monitor responses for overdue items and report issues to the Regulatory Lead or SSHESSH&E Management as needed.Maintain a Legislation Summary tracking list to capture amendments or emerging regulations.Ensure new legislation or amendments are incorporated into RegFrame.Coordinate quarterly stewardship reviews with SSHESSH&E Management.Monitor and report on Key Performance Indicators as specified in this manual.Only candidates with the right to work in Australia (Australian Citizens, PR Holders, or Valid Australian Work Visa) will be considered.
