About purchasing roles in our industry, we are seeking a Purchasing Assistant to support our team at our Paget site.
This is an exciting opportunity within a dynamic and rewarding industry for someone who enjoys administrative tasks and communication. You will play a key role in supporting purchasing activities, maintaining supplier relationships, and ensuring smooth material flow to meet operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and issue purchase orders accurately and on time.
* Communicate with suppliers regarding pricing, availability, and delivery schedules.
* Resolve issues related to delays, shortages, or damaged goods.
* Maintain positive vendor relationships and assist with negotiations when required.
* Update purchasing records, pricing data, and maintain accurate documentation.
* Work closely with the warehouse team to monitor inventory levels.
* Liaise with internal departments to clarify purchase requirements.
* Provide administrative support to the Purchasing Manager.
* Attend nearby suppliers, hardware stores, supermarkets, or specialty shops to purchase urgent materials as needed.
Skills & Experience Required
* A strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
* The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
* Previous experience in purchasing or administration is desirable but not essential.
* A valid driver's license is preferred for occasional local purchases.
