The Senior Assessor will be appointed by the Chief Executive as a Government Assessor under the Victims of Crime Assistance Act 2009 (Section 128). This position reports to the Team Leader, Financial Assistance and is responsible for delivering financial assistance to victims of crime in accordance with legislative intent.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform functions as required under the Victims of Crime Assistance Act 2009.
* Undertake evidence‑based decision making to provide financial assistance to victims of crime.
* Provide authoritative advice to administrative officers to enable timely and responsive delivery of services.
* Deliver quality and responsive services to clients through the application of Victim Assist resources, policies, processes, systems and technologies.
* Manage case applications for financial assistance, including accurate record‑keeping and mentoring as required.
* Take responsibility for completion of work and seek guidance when needed.
* Communicate effectively and build trusting relationships with stakeholders, including other departmental units and the non‑government sector, to ensure efficient service delivery.
* Contribute to a high‑performing team, collaborate with others, display motivation, and encourage innovative ideas.
* Identify and implement ways to continually improve services by sharing and seeking creative ideas, suggestions and data to inform delivery.
