About the Role
Kambu Health seeks to appoint a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team. As a key member, you will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive and culturally safe healthcare services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
Your responsibilities will include supporting the delivery of holistic, person-centered care that reflects the cultural, social, and emotional well-being needs of clients. This will involve assisting in health checks, chronic disease management, immunizations, wound care, and other nursing procedures within your scope of practice.
You will also promote health literacy and support self-management through culturally appropriate education and health promotion activities. Building strong, respectful relationships with clients, families, and communities is crucial to fostering trust and continuity of care.
Other key duties will include maintaining accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation using electronic health systems, collaborating with Aboriginal Health Workers, GPs, Allied Health, and external providers to support coordinated care, and participating in community programs and events.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
* Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
* Current First Aid and CPR certification.
* A minimum of five (5) years' experience as a RN working within primary health care, community health, or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health services.
* Strong clinical skills in areas such as wound care, immunizations, health assessments, and chronic disease support (in line with your scope of practice).
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate respectfully with Aboriginal Health Workers, Registered Nurses, GPs, and other health professionals.
* Proficiency in using clinical software and electronic medical records.
* Demonstrated application of all privacy, confidentiality, and professional boundaries, especially in community settings.
