Job Overview
Civil Project Engineers are sought for UGL Utilities, leading a team that designs and constructs critical infrastructure across the water and power sectors.
Main Responsibilities
* Develop project plans, work schedules, and methodologies to meet project timelines, budgets, and scope.
* Review technical drawings, specifications, and contracts; provide engineering input to ensure compliance with industry standards and client expectations.
* Oversee on-site civil construction activities, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to required quality standards; manage subcontractor performance and resolve site issues.
* Promote health and safety policies across all civil project activities; implement risk assessments and safety measures effectively.
* Liaise with clients, internal teams, and external stakeholders to provide regular updates and address engineering or construction challenges.
Key Qualifications
* Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, with eligibility for membership with Engineers Australia (or equivalent).
* Proven experience delivering civil engineering works in infrastructure, utilities, or construction projects – ideally within a multi-disciplinary or contractor environment.
* Strong understanding of civil design principles, construction methodologies, and relevant Australian standards, with the ability to interpret drawings and technical documentation.
* Demonstrated commitment to health, safety, environmental, and quality standards, with experience implementing and maintaining compliance on project sites.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors to achieve project outcomes.
